Even though I'd shared an update about my garage workstation recently I had no idea at that time that I'd be painting the garage now. But with the other small updates we've had in the hopper (my workstation and re-organizing D's tool area) it seemed like a natural time to pause all of that and paint the space first.
Here is a diagram of the garage.
The walls were paneled when our house was built and they show usual wear and tear.
Luckily for us, a prior owner built a large tool bench and hung shelves in the garage, which are super helpful. Unfortunately though, a prior owner also painted the floor in the laundry space and tool area. It will be require lots of sanding to smooth out the areas where the paint has cracked and peeled.

A few weeks back I shared this rough outline of our plans.
Phase 3: further organize workstation based on usability; add bulletin boards and decor
Phase 4 - organize left half of garage: David's work bench
Phase 5 - update laundry room space; add gallery wall for G's art and a height board
Phase 6 - expand workstation with storage for crafts/gift wrapping
Phase 7 - paint the garage walls white, add a ceiling fan, add lighting.
Things have jumped into a faster gear and it looks like we are doing part of Phase 7 before everything else! The updates will be nice, but not fancy. Between mid March and the end of April I'm hoping that we can complete:
* painting the tool area of the garage, maybe even all walls in the garage
* painting the trim and garage shelves
* re-purposing spaces and organizing tools
* re-purposing spaces and organizing tools
If time allows, I hope we can also:
* decide how to paint/resurface the tool area and laundry room floor
* repair problems with one of the walls in the laundry room

* paint the doors into the house and backyard
I'm off to painting, and organizing tools, and rearranging stuff in our house so it doesn't seem like such a mess while all the garage items are being shuffled into our breakfast nook and dining room spaces :) The neat-freak in me is a little off kilter amidst the commotion, but I am reminding myself to enjoy the process! And, I am certainly looking forward to the end result!
