watching, imitating, and helping Daddy
(He had more fun putting the slide together than he has actually sliding on it... It is currently an awesome ramp for his toy cars to travel down since Dude still has a bit of a fear about slides.)
He is a big protector of Mommy, and thinks I am all his. He will run to separate a "Mommy Daddy hug" and then asks Mommy to "hold me".
My guess is that is preference is to be held by Mommy and to wrestle with Daddy, or watch Daddy work. He really likes walking on the big sets of prints Daddy brings home to look at.
He loves for Daddy to put water in his (Gavin's) hair and then brush it; just like Daddy does with his own hair. G will squeal with delight each time.
He asks for 'sauce' often. Sauce is anything from ketchup to jelly... If given the option, he will just eat the ketchup, rather than using it as the dipping sauce :(
He tells Mommy she needs 'coffee' when they pass Starbucks in the Target store. I know I've gotten coffee there before, but certainly not often enough for him to think it's typical... crazy dude must just know what I like!
He asks for his 'hello' (phone) and 'boo' (bear) when he is about to go to bed.
He loves playing with cars, trucks, and trains. But most often they are all called 'choo choos'.
He talks about hammers all.the.time. And will notice them all over the place (commercials, magazines, billboards, paint stores...)
He has a new workbench and loves his 'toos' (tools).
He still runs up to play kitchens whenever he spots one. Then he tells me the oven is 'hot' and asks where the 'cookies' are.
He has started telling himself to 'obey' after being corrected, or when he is about to make a poor choice.
He calls all clothes "dress" as in, getting dressed.
He often tells us 'Shy Shy no more'. Shiner is Ella's dog that has passed. :(
He talks on his phone (one of our old flip phones) often. He'll usually say, "hi... oh, yes!.... ha ha ha", followed by gibberish, and then, "bye". I'm guessing he is listening or telling a joke prior to laughing while chatting on the phone.
Babies. He still points them out anytime he sees or hears one. Babies include kids his own age that he has not met before.
One of his new phrases, is "help me", said in great distress.
He almost always requests his ouches to be kissed or rubbed. His feet and elbows get lots and lots of ouches every single day...
He gives great leg-hugs.
He asks to 'help' us. He is best at putting things in the trash, cups on the counter, laundry into his basket or moving it into the dryer. He likes to pick up his toys, when asked. We recently transitioned his diaper bag to a small back pack since he wanted to help carry it.
He learned to say "love you" this month. LOVE that!
His absolute cutest phrase is "I don't know". He puts his hands up and shakes his head in such a silly way. I'm pretty sure he thinks it's a joke, and doesn't understand what it means.
He can say all of our family members' names, except Aunt Stephanie and Cousin Claire. His 'Uncle John' is the best; he says John in a very Darth Vader-esque voice!
He asks about Cousin Emma and Aunt Anna a lot. Anytime I mention Grandma or Gran, he asks about Anna. And then Emma : ) When I ask G about Cousin Josh, he will say "osh, in-y, baby" (Josh, Jenni and Baby Jackson).
2 years old is so much fun. I love that he can talk more and we get to see his sweet smiles and personality develop!!!
