This list could go on and on...
but I thought I'd share a few of my favorite things lately : )
* carpet cleaning
After hating our dirty carpet and still loathing the idea of professional cleaning running over $150, my mind was opened to the option of renting a machine from the hardware store. How am I just know realizing that this was an option? For $25 (really it somehow ended up only costing $2, but that's another story) I rented it for a day and cleaned all of our carpet. Friends, those machines are awesome; as good as a professional cleaning! Granted it took me 5 hours and my back was a little sore afterwards... but our carpets are clean and beautiful and I feel like my whole house got a face lift!
* caramel brulee latte
How did I forget about this awesome drink at Starbucks? I got mine with just 1/2 the syrup and it's so yummy!
* cookie press
I've ordered ours from Amazon and am getting stoked to crank out some holiday cookies with G!!!
* garage workstation
I still love it. It's just what we've always needed : )
* friends and mentors
We have some really great pals and are so grateful for them. They make everything so much more fun, enlightening and fulfilling.
* clothes mountain
D had a mountain of clothes that I needed to buckle down to stain treat and wash with care... I'm awesome with normal laundry, but the special stuff always makes me slow down and double check that I'm doing it correctly. Anyhow, it's done. I'm SOOO glad. I'd been lamenting it for so long.
* nesting tables from World Market
I found a set of 3 nesting tables at WM for 25% off last week and snatched them up! I'd been hoping to find something nesting to give us some options for when guests come over.
* TV stand
Some friends gave us a super duper heavy tv a couple years ago when they moved. I'm guessing it weighs a gazillion pounds. Does anyone want it??? Sometime soon we are moving it out and moving in a beautiful tv stand some other friends of ours gave us. I'm super excited! Every step we get to a furnished family room makes me giddy.
* time
Last spring I decided to pare down my commitments (outside of the home) to make more room for impromptu needs in our day. I prayed I'd have the motivation to remain committed to doing less. And, it has stuck! Our days are full enough and it's so nice to have more breathing room!
*BSF
It consistently tops my list of what's good in the week. And what has been a huge blessing in my life. What a joy it is for Gavin and I to be a part of Bible Study Fellowship. I personally love it. But I also love the mission and purpose of it. I love that it is for seekers, novice learners, anyone...!
* G's big guy room
We are planning to move him out of the nursery sometime in the next couple months and I am having lots of fun putting together an adventure themed room for him. I am re-purposing things we have and plan to paint a couple things to hang on the walls. As an awesome bonus, we came across a vintage road sign that we bought the other day. I think it should all turn out pretty neat!
* bathroom shelves
D installed 2 floating shelves for us in the guest bathroom. It's one of those silly projects I've hoped to have done since day 1. That, and getting all our light switch covers back on. Both were done last week, and I'm excited! It's all those simple projects that are taking us time to finish.
* a dishwasher
Ours has been out of commission for quite a while, maybe a year. I am the girl that has dreamt of having 2 dishwashers in my home because I dislike washing dishes so much. Anyhow, knowing that to be a little extreme I decided to be ok with ours being broken and spend some time learning to enjoy dish washing. Luckily it worked. And for the most part, I've completely forgotten we had the option of replacing it. Anyhow, we are moving forward with replacing it now. Especially since I'll need the time saver when bundle of love #2 arrives :))))))
* it's winter!!!
Yes! Oh yes! The weather is cool, soup is easy to make for dinner, I love the color red, and twinkle lights are my weakness! I'm looking forward to decorating for Christmas next week and finishing up some crafting for gifts that I'd like to do!
* music
Always a favorite. Thank you Lord for the gift of music!
