Fall Trip to Gran & Grandad's

For the OU/Tech Game weekend we traveled to Oklahoma and visited family.  We were very glad it was a weekend that all of David's siblings and spouses were in town and available to hang out!  It's been too long since we've all been together at the same time.
On the drive up Dude asked us if Gran would have "cookies".  He'd first used that word only a day before.  For months cookies have been "woah".  As in, he's super excited to see them, says, "Woah!" and then only refers to them as "woah" after that.  Anyhow, she did have cookies and they even baked more together on Saturday evening.  It was the messiest flour event EVER but the cookies turned out great and were adorned with his sprinkles.  Dude loved it and even helped sweep up the floury mess.  It gave me more courage to let him really bake with me, rather than watching from Daddy's arms, which is how we've mostly done it.
On Sunday evening, we all got together for a Shrimp Boil that Grandpa Smith made.  It was delicious and so festive.  Grandma Smith's peach cobbler was sooo good too.  Great evening!
David's parents brought back super yummy grape juice from their trip on the East Coast.  It rounded out the meal and was great juice.  Really, it was exceptional.
Little man played piano with Anna many times over the weekend.  He sure loves her!  I thought it was funny to hear him walk around calling out her name as he'd look for her.  I think she is the only one, other than Ella, that I've heard him do that with.
And we got to spend lots of time with all our nieces.  Baby Claire is so precious!  As we drove home G kept asking about Cousin Emma (closest cousin in age to him) and Mitzi "puppy". :)
Little man also helped Daddy and Grandad go thru a storage shed.  Gavin scored some of Daddy's matchbox cars to take home along with lots of other treasures.  Including a bunk bed!  And, on top of that Gran and Grandad found him a Little Tykes workshop that he got to bring home too!  It was incredible!  G is the luckiest dude around!  I can't wait for him to move into the bunk bed and tell him how it once belonged to his Daddy and Uncle Jon :) Sweet memories!
