In August David's parents gifted us with a bookcase as a house warming gift.
We liked it so much we ordered a second one in November!The bookcases add a lot to the room
and bring us further along to filing the space and decorating the room.
I styled the shelves by removing the dust jackets and grouping books by their binding color. Since we have so many books I thought it was my best option for making the shelves look less like they belonged in a library.

Across the room from the bookshelves we added 2 chairs that my parents had at their house. We appreciate having the extra seating and like how they fill in the room.
With the bookshelves now in the family room we moved the rose-colored dresser to the entry hall. Then, to brighten up the space we added the 2 glass lamps that my parents gave us this Christmas.
I am as pleased as punch at how our home decorating is coming along!
