Dark Chocolate Buttercream Icing

The BEST Chocolate Icing EVER!

DARK CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM ICING
This recipe is a Sprinkles icing recipe.

Ingredients
1 ½ sticks butter (firm, but not cold)
1 pinch salt (only if you are using unsalted butter)
2 ½ cups powdered sugar, sifted
¼ teaspoon vanilla
3 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled to room temperature

Directions
In a standing mixer or with a hand mixer, beat butter and salt on medium speed about 2 minutes. On low speed, gradually add powdered sugar. When combined, add vanilla. Beat until smooth and creamy. You desire to have a consistency similar to homemade ice cream. Then, add melted chocolate, beat on medium speed to combine. Be careful to not over mix.

This amount will frost 1 dozen cupcakes.
