A couple months ago David and I made a list of projects for our home that we wanted to complete by November 30th. Many little projects were completed the first 2 weekends but not much happened after that. Then came Thursday evening, November 29th. David announced he was going to install our back splash that Saturday.
Back story on our back splash: Over 6 months ago David gave me a deadline to choose the back splash since I had spent the 6 months before that picking up tile samples but always ending indecisive and wanting more samples. So, finally I picked one, we ordered it, picked it up, and then let it sit in the garage for 6 months. The main project on the list we made was to tile our back splash. So, just in the nick of time D installed it!! And even though it took him 6 months to put it up, it took me at least that long to pick it out... I think we may have more in common than I realized when we started dating years ago :)
So this Saturday D installed the back splash. It is awesome and he is my hero for knocking it out in a day. It looks super professional and every time I walk into the kitchen I smile big! Shout out to Kevin B. who loaned us his tile saw and worked with D on this project!!
So, other than my super stellar hubs- what made this day so productive? Well, I put up our Christmas lights! I was pretty excited that D wanted to hang lights this year so on Saturday morning I decided to help him out and hang them while while he worked in the kitchen.
I felt a little like superwoman. Hanging lights on our porch was super easy, but still it was not something I had ever imagined doing. So, when it worked out without a hitch I was stoked!

Little dude gave me a round of applause after I finished hanging the lights. He was a trooper and played on the porch while I worked :)
