For Christmas I tried to come up with gift ideas for my sister's kiddos that would be unexpected but fun. Jenni started Girl Scouts this fall and I knew she was really enjoying it. While looking around at craft supplies I had on hand I came across this awesome rabbit my sister gave me years ago when I was accepted to OU. Seeing how I don't have a little girl and this was given to me by sis I decided to pass it along to her daughter but re-fashion it.
Sooo
I decided to make a miniature Girl Scout's uniform for this stuffed rabbit that matches J's Brownie vest.
And just because, I made the rabbit and Jenni matching Brownie emblem bows :)
How To explanation
I used cotton fabric for the vest and felt for all of the Brownie patches. One of the patches has her troop number on it; for that I used craft paint. All of the patches were easily machine stitched on. For the vest, I just scratched out a pattern using computer paper to create a vest. It was a little tricky so I made a mock-up vest using spare fabric from my bin and then pieced together the final vest in a snap using the mock-up. I found it helpful to use seam tape to hold the seams in place before machine stitching it.
