The second best thing to hear

Yesterday was a long day here at A&G Inc.  (A&G is the name of the business that Gavin and I run during the day when D is at work; I even answer the phone as 'A&G Incorporated' when I'm feeling fiesty!)

It was a hard day because G cried all day.  Being that it was the first time that he stayed in a sad mood all day I figured he was either tired or getting sick.

Midway thru the day I sat him on the floor and walked to the laundry room.  He started to cry but stopped when I told him I would be right back.  When I re-entered and walked past him to set down laundry he burst into tears, held up his arms and said, "mama".  Melt. My. Heart.  It was not a mumble mixed with mmmms, it was simply, "mama".  Oh, my sweet baby!  It is the first time I can say for sure that he called me by name.

The crying continued for the rest of the afternoon, but not without the memory of  the bright spot in our day.

Oh, and "mama", not crying, is my second favorite thing to hear.  My favorite is his laugh.  I love baby giggles!

p.s. I awoke this morning to a baby with 2 top teeth that have cut thru... which explains everything.
