My Little Brick-Eater

This is what David has been calling G this week.

Why? Well, little man has decided to start eating anything he finds on the floor.  On Monday, I was doing laundry and walked into the kitchen to find G chewing on some rubber he pulled off the door mat.  Yummy.

Come Tuesday, Gavin found a place in the kitchen where we have not nailed down baseboard.  He pulled off the baseboard and somehow pried off a chunck of the mortar (glue that adheres tile to the floor) and decided it would make a nice afternoon snack.   I was in the kitchen with him and thought he was just playing with his back turned to me.  When I looked at him his mouth was covered with white foamy-ness.  I thought he had spit up some milk until I went to wash it off and it was sandy. Oh, Gavin!  His mouth was full of little bits of chewed up mortar.

Little man got his first spray down in the kitchen sink.  When I couldn't reach D, I called Poison Control... who knows what's in that stuff.  PC said everything would be fine if he did not break into a rash.

An hour and half later, dude was covered in a rash, all over his cheeks, arms and legs.  After a second call to PC and the pediatrician, a dose of benadryl and lots of fluids, he STILL had not learned a lesson.  I caught little man returning to the scene of the crime.  I promptly blocked off the area only to have him return later in the day to it.  He was VERY frustrated that his favorite snack shop was closed so I decided to capture his reaction...

Oh, little man, how I love thee and look forward to all your discoveries!
