Dining Room Chairs!!!!

I have been looking for chairs for our dining room table for over a year. And with the price of chairs being very high I decided to hold off and wait until I found a deal. But even with deals I expected to have to save quite a bit to buy a set of 12 matching chairs.

Why 12? Well, I love having friends over for dinner and last summer I found a beautiful dining room table that seats 12. (One of the conditions I had for our home prior to finding/buying it was that the dining room was large, ideally able to seat 12).

Well, over time I decided that I would look for 10 matching chairs with the plan of later buying two Parsons chairs for each end of the table. Still, though--with everything we would like to do to the house, I felt like I would have to sacrifice quite a few projects just for chairs. So over time I decided to look for 6-8 matching chairs that would be stationed around the table with the plan to later buy more chairs to pull out when we had a larger dinner party.

By wish list for the chairs included: being lower profile so as to not make the room feel cluttered with seat backs, solid wood/sturdy, upholstered seats so that I could customize them to my dining room, and preferably a stain that coordinated with our table.

So, today the conclusion to our saga came!
I found just what I was looking for while perusing Craig's List.
And, it did not cost me any more than some extra diapers!

Crazy, yes! We had extra diapers (in the wrong sizes) from a diaper shower that was thrown for us and I sold them on Craig's List a couple weekends ago. Then, this weekend I found this set of 6 matching chairs. I was hoping for 10-12 but 6 will work out just fine and the price was a steal! Even better, the new upholstery on the chairs matches our dining room rug and buffet table. Crazy, awesome coincidence! But really, I do not believe it is a coincidence.

You see, a few weeks ago it occurred to me I should start keeping track of how I am saving/spending money on our house remodeling to track the answered prayers and blessings that we have had on this journey. I count it a completely answered prayer to have found a home with a large dining room (and its not a mansion of a house), then to have found a table I LOVE, and now, chairs to sit around the table that do not need to be stained or reupholstered.

I told my sister last week that I was going to wait until God brought me the right deal. Such awesome timing He has! Wohoo!
