Completed Projects Update: Week 6
We have been out of town the weekends preceding and following this week with only 4 days left at home for projects.
David cleaned out and reworked the drain for the master bath sink and replaced the thermostat. Small projects, but greatly needing to be completed.
On Friday evening we had dinner at Reale's (an Italian pizzeria/cafe in Austin).
We loved the atmosphere, food and service. I had the Eggplant Sicilian (a mix of eggplant parmesan and chicken parmesan). So yummy! If you are local-- check it out. They are in the shopping center at Anderson Mill and 183.
For those looking to remember the fun of unpacking boxes after a move...
my week included...
Starting each morning with a trip to Starbucks for an espresso pick-me-up.
These fun-runs will slow down or end when Peanut is here so I am soaking it up! Plus, I have lots of gift cards from students making these trips possible. One day this week I even got a free drink since their computer system was down :)
After the fun-run I return home to unpack some boxes.
After a while I get bored in the room I am unpacking/setting up only to migrate to another room to unpack boxes. Many times I have breathed deeply when my home has became full of objects with no place to be stored (considering we have shelving that needs to be installed and some furniture not yet in place). And, with no cable/internet to distract me I have kept the dvd que rolling with Felicity episodes (an old WB tv show) to add some excitement.
Then, I unpack more boxes.
And still, more boxes... only to realize we have plenty of drinking glasses, cake stands, vases, and trays/platters. Of course, I knew this before, but now that I have them unpacked and put away (i.e. a cake stand shelf, a vase cabinet...) I can see it too :)
At this point I gain a second wind because everything is organized (which I love). So, I unpack more boxes.
Then, my feet are swollen and its no longer easy to unpack boxes. I know that we are making progress on the house, but I am also walking around with a deadline that is kicking up a storm. So, I call Mom or Sis for some encouragement.
After a break I get back to unpacking boxes, ever the more excited to start the next day... unpacking boxes again :) But, hey-- I am/was a teacher so at least I have the summer off to unpack boxes and prep for Peanut's arrival :)

I love the mix of grey, chocolate and caramel... the colors I am building our decor around
