Weekend Projects

Patching Holes
This weekend David patched the old light fixture holes in the dining room and kitchen ceilings.  Then he worked to re-texture the area around the patch.

We are so excited to have the old popcorn in the kitchen sanded down.  This small improvement feels huge and is a big step towards finishing the kitchen updates.

Hanging Towel Rod Plaque
A wall in our master bathroom had a very obvious dimple from where the old towel holder was secured. The old holder had a rather large decorative element that removed the wall's texture when we decided to replace it.  ... argh!
So after scouring magazines for ideas of how to cover this discreetly I decided to mount a plaque over the mess and then mount the new (and smaller) towel holder on top.

This plaque is from Hobby Lobby. I sanded it and then applied a few coats of paint to it. I used the same paint that is on the walls in the bathroom.
The finished product is even better than I expected and I think I may prefer this look to the typical wall mount.

These are 2 small projects but I'm an excited gal to have them done!
