I read about this tip in a magazine a while back and found it helpful.
I used a couple rolls of brown craft paper (like a brown paper bag) cut to the size of pictures to use as a template for hanging the frames on the wall. In almost every room of our house I have had a few pictures to hang on the walls and since we have done so much to fill old holes and paint the walls I wanted to be sure to hang the pictures in the right spot the first time.
I used small tacs or tape to hold the paper in place and then hammered the nail for the frame right into the paper, pulled the paper off and hung the picture in its place. For a few of the spaces I left the paper on the walls for a few days to see if I liked the arrangement prior to actually hanging the art.
