Winter Projects - fabric for kitchen/family room

What a week it has been, and it's only Wednesday!

I have been gathering a list of things we want to complete before May Baby arrives.  (By the way, G thinks little guy should be named Bob or Puppy.)

Anyhow, the list seems doable, but also a little overwhelming.  I am trying to wrap my mind around it, take a breath and then get to work!

Of the things on the list, I am really excited about making some more window treatments for our home.  Last week I purchased the fabric for our kitchen window treatment and fabric for pillows in the living room.

My plan is to make a roman shade for our master bathroom, and hopefully it will go so smoothly that I will be ready to make a roman shade for our kitchen too.  I am confident it will go well.  And excited.  But also a little nervous :)

Below are pictures of the fabric I have chosen.
This fabric is linen for a roman shade in the kitchen.  It's cream with a raspberry pattern.  Adding some pink makes me quite excited-especially for a room I am in all day long! It will give the room a nice pop of color and coordinate well with the adjoining rooms (blue-gray dining room and charcoal sofa/rug in the family room).

The fabric above (raspberry/garnet pattern) is for accent pillows on the family room sofa.  I'm pleased with how well the charcoal/silver/white/champagne colors are blending together.  Making pillows should be straight forward.  I'm going to try making a cord border for the first time too.

The only detail left to decide is whether we will add more accents. My goal is to incorporate some of the blue-gray in the dining room into this room too- so it will all flow nicely together.
I'm leaning towards this option. It is a striped fabric with all the colors I've used elsewhere in our home.  The blue-gray stripe matches our dining room too!

Another option is to add the blue-gray in a separate pillow, like the polka dot option above.

Anyhow, that's what I'm working on.  I hope your week is going well!
